Translocation allows a creature to travel from the translocation shard at its current location to another one that the creature knows exists. Translocating drains 1 focus per threshold, and having insufficient focus will result in failure to reach the desired destination, resulting in a random destination and loss of all focus. There are at least 3000 known destinations. It is rumored there are ten times as many possible destinations. For every creature the traveler takes with it, increase the threshold by 1. For every 20 assets a creature takes (not counting slaves), increase the threshold by 1. If the traveler is translocating a group, the entire group goes to the exact same location, even if it was random.

Common thresholds:
4 – If the destination is the translocation shard from which the creature last traveled.
8 – If the traveler has traveled to and from the desired translocation shard before.
12 – The traveler has seen the desired translocation shard from a distance, or a fellow traveler has traveled to and from the shard.
16 – If the traveler has seen a picture of the translocation shard and its surrounding location.
20 – A reliable source has told the traveler of a translocation shard, and describes it. 
24 – An unreliable source has told the traveler of a translocation shard on this heavenly body, but the traveler has never been there.
28 – An unreliable source has told the traveler of a translocation shard on a moon or planet the traveler has never been to.
32 – The traveler thinks – with no basis – that there might possibly be a translocation shard at or near your destination.
120 – The traveler can be treated as a translocation shard and can translocate to any other at will.
240 – The traveler knows where every translocation shard is as if seen from afar.
